This year Pack 104
is holding a "Cub
Scout Roundup" meeting at Sternberger and Morehead
Elementary schools in order to show the program to the boys and parents
and sign up new members.
The meetings will be held on : Or, attend the first PACK meeting on September 18th at CUMC at 6:30 PM |
||
| Parents must signup their boy for Cub Scouts by completing an application form and pay the standard Cub Scout fees. These fees are collected by the Boy Scouts local council in order to support the overall program and entitle the boy to receive the "Boy's Life" magazine each month. (see ProgramCost page for more info) | ||
| First grade Cubs are called "Tigers" Cubs. At the start of each school year a new "Tiger Den" is formed from the incoming class of 1st graders. A Den has approximately 10 scouts, so there may be more than one Den formed each year. There will be a special meeting, after you sign up, with just the new Tiger Cubs to do a little organization: | ||
| - Parents will decide what day and time to hold Den meetings | ||
| - Parents will decide who will be the new Den Leaders (one Den Leader, 2 assistants) | ||
|
(The pack will help by
assigning an assistant Scout Master to your den to: 1 - Show you the program and explain your roles, as leaders and support parents 2 - Attend your Den Meetings and keep you on track 3 - Help you in any way needed ! |
||
| Boys in the 2nd thru 5th grades will be able to choose an existing Den to become part of after meeting some of the other boys and parents. | ||
| Boys are encouraged to get a Cub Scout uniform (Blue shirt only, pants are optional) in order to wear to each Den and Pack meeting. The Pack has a limited quantity (and sizes) of extra (used) uniform shirts available for scouts where cost is an issue. If you need assistance to put your boy in a blue shirt, just let your Den Leader or the Cub master know and we'll work with you. | ||
| Pack 104 attempts to schedule at least one Pack outing per month. This can be a campout (low impact), a nature hike, a ride on a train, visit to a museum, or a Pinewood Derby RACE !! All Pack activities are considered "Family Friendly" activities, sibling are able to attend in almost all cases. This is not a "boys only" club, sisters and moms go on Cub Scout campouts and activities !! Your family participation in these activities is important to set an example ! | ||
| The Cub Scout program is designed as a BOY / Parent activity - parents must be willing to actively participate in the Cub Scout Program with their son, there are a lot of fun activities designed to bring the boy and parent together in a learning and development environment...and to have some fun!!
