Parent Involvement at Pack 104

Cubs
Scouts are not miniature Boy Scouts. Cubs are a lot different !
|
|
| |
- Cubs are much younger than Boy
Scouts, our activities are "age appropriate" for each year of Cubs |
|
| |
- Cubs have a higher requirement
for supervision of the boys (2-deep leadership at all times) |
|
| |
- Cubs is not a "Drop Off"
program, moms and dads participate in the Den meeting with their boys
|
|
| |
- Cubs learn by being shown
examples and participation with an adult, then Games with other boys |
|
| |
- Cubs need a much higher FUN,
and SILLY content, and a low RISK content |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The Cub Scout program is designed as
a BOY / Parent activity - parents must be willing to actively participate
in the Cub Scout Program with their son, there are a lot of fun activities
designed to bring the boy and parent together in a learning and
development environment...and to have some fun!! |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The Cub Scout Program is laid out in
the annual "Program Guide" books. We follow the guide book to make
sure we accomplish the tasks and the boys earn the awards and get the
recognition they deserve. Since the "plan" is already made out, all
the parents have to do is follow the guide books, its not that hard !

Pack 104 attempts to schedule
at least one Pack outing per month. This can be a campout (low
impact), a nature hike, a ride on a train, visit to a museum, or a
Pinewood Derby RACE !! All Pack activities are considered
"Family Friendly" activities, sibling are able to attend in almost all
cases. This is not a "boys only" club, sisters and moms go on Cub
Scout campouts and activities !! Your family participation in
these activities is important to set an example ! |
